If you were lucky enough to be at Cream o’ the Croft last summer you’ll know that not only was it a ridiculously fun weekend of racing and messing around on mountain bikes, but it was also an intimate little music festival for the whole family.

And who knew?  It turns out Mountain Bikers are just like real human beings after all.  When the bikes are packed away they love nothing more than hanging out with their family and friends, enjoying great live music and dancing like nobody’s watching.  So with that in mind we’ve pushed the boat out to treat you to every genre of live music at this year’s festival including Swing, Bluegrass, Jazz, Country, Drum and Bass, Blues, Folk, Rock and Disco!  Sorry Opera fans, maybe next year.

In addition to bands in the barn on Saturday night we also have live music playing in the big tent on Sunday, so you can race (or watch) the Enduro on the Saturday, party hard on the Saturday night to our eclectic line-up of live acts and enjoy even more great bands on Sunday before you go home!  Sorry, you do have to go home at some point.

So, who can you look forward to playing at the festival this year?

Saturday 18th June (Hay Barn)

7pm ’til 8pm – Black & Thomson

We kick off on Saturday night with the rootsy sound of Black and Thomson.  A fusion of solo artist Neil Thomson and Sandy Black from Blue Dubh, Black & Thomson combine harmony vocals, guitar, bouzouki, harmonica, mandolin and low whistle to great effect, treating you to an eclectic mix of Acoustic Blues, Country, Americana and Folk.  Add in some original material and contemporary rock classics inspired by the likes of John Martyn, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Prine and Marc Cohen and it’s the perfect way to start the night!

8.30pm ’til 9.45pm – The Bullet Holes

Next up we have local Comrie legends “The Bullet Holes”.  Self-confessed party-starters, The Bullet Holes’ reputation precedes them around these parts and are sure to draw an enthusiastic crowd.  Drawing inspiration from Jonny Cash among many others, an energetic set from The Bullet Holes should continue to push the tempo up very nicely indeed.  Yeeeeehaaaaw!

Continuing to crank the energy level up to full steam ahead, we cannot tell you how excited we are about our third and final live act on Saturday night…….

10.15pm ’til 11.30pm – Jenova Collective

Causing a scene amongst Europe’s hottest clubs and festivals with their ‘no holds barred, take no prisoners’ attitude, Jenova Collective, a 7-piece live dance band from Leeds have cemented their arrival on the Vintage Remix scene.   Their electric combination of vintage samples, gypsy-jazz guitar, funky bass, screeching sax, dirty synths & live drums all fronted by their enigmatic front woman have allowed their sound to develop from traditional Electro Swing to a more unique, heavier style taking influence from house, drum & bass, dubstep and glitch hop whilst still keeping their signature vintage sound along with a healthy serving of block-rocking bass and relentless energy.  Whoooweee!

2015 was a stand out year for Jenova Collective with a string of releases and remixes on Ragtime Records, Greenqueen Music, Spoons Records and Chin Chin Records, a European, Australian and New Zealand tour plus a jam packed festival season.  The band are currently in the studio working on their debut album to be released later this year and are looking forward to knocking your socks off at Cream o’ the Croft!

11.30pm – 1pm – Silent Disco DJ Battle

Every massive tune you can possibly imagine, plus a lot you probably can’t!

Sunday 19th June (Big Tent)

1pm ’til 2pm – The Coaltown Daisies

Described as ‘spell-binding’, ‘spine-tingling’ and ‘breath-taking”, ‘Best Folk Performance’ winners The Coaltown Daisies are a rising duo of singer songwriters who write and perform folk, soul and americana music.  Having performed at an abundance of venues and festivals on their journey so far this super-talented duo from Fife have a busy future ahead; they want to continue sharing their music both at home and overseas and we’re delighted the Daisies will be playing in the Big Tent this year!

Progressing strongly in the Scottish live music scene, The Coaltown Daisies have released a debut album which features some of Scotland’s most highly credited musicians.  Their previous five star EP also received fantastic reviews and continues to make listeners happy the world over.  With an action-packed calendar of live performances, including a number of festivals up and down the country and future Scottish and European tours, The Coaltown Daisies are set to continue to build their audience and delight people with their music further afield.

2.30pm ’til 3.30pm – The Daddy Naggins
Fancy some whisky-soaked Americana and banjo-fuelled Celtic folk from one of Glasgow’s hardest working bands?  The Daddy Naggins have built a reputation as one of Scotland’s most lively acts, bringing their brand of Celtic-tinged Bluegrass to pubs, clubs and festival fields.  Playing high energy bluegrass with a Scottish twist (plus the occasional Hip-Hop medley to a Bluegrass beat), The Daddy Naggins are one of the most in-demand groups on the local bar and club scene in Glasgow, rocking jams, parties and sessions wherever they go!  And this year they’re coming to Cream o’ the Croft!
