Located in the spectacular Strathearn countryside, The Famous Grouse Experience at Glenturret Distillery in Crieff is an award winning visitor attraction that offers a truly unique and authentic experience to visitors from all over the world.
Recently named Best Visitor Experience by the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions, Scotland’s oldest working distillery has been making whisky by hand and by heart since 1775. The distillery offers visitors, from novices to whisky enthusiasts, a unique opportunity to experience the traditional handmade distilling processes that have been used to craft the whiskies at Glenturret Distillery for generations.
Experience a diverse and absorbing range of distillery tours where visitors can discover how the distillery’s Glenturret single malt is carefully blended with other grain and malt whiskies to create the UK’s No.1 whisky, The Famous Grouse.
In early 2015 the distillery announced a new café and restaurant offering, Wilde Thyme at Glenturret, led by one of Scotland’s leading chefs, Andrew Hamer. Here visitors can savour mouth-watering dishes lovingly created using the very best locally sourced ingredients from Scotland’s larder.
After sampling the menu, a visit to the gift shop to Bottle Your Own whisky is the perfect end to this unique experience.

Please note the distillery is closed on 25th, 26th December and 1st January. Tours can be booked online up to 48 hours in advance of your visit or you can visit the Welcome Lounge on arrival at the distillery to book a place on the next available tour.

Experience the distillery’s exclusive bonded warehouses which house maturing casks of Glenturret whisky. Following an in-depth tour of Scotland’s most traditional distillery enjoy a guided nosing and tasting session in a specially built sample room within the warehouses. Includes four premium whisky tastes from our exceptional range of Glenturret single malts

Blending Experience, 2½ hours
Enjoy an in-depth distillery tour followed by a guided nosing and tasting session in our specially built sample room within the warehouses. Your knowledgeable host will then test your sensory skills with our Malt Challenge and guide you in the art of blending your very own whisky. Includes a tasting of four exceptional premium Glenturret single malts and the opportunity to sample a range of whiskies whilst creating your own blend. Receive a 100ml unique blend and certificate.

Stillman Experience, (Full day, available Tues, Wed & Thurs)
The exclusive Stillman Experience gives you unrivalled access to the unique world of whisky production. Spend the morning with Glenturret’s head stillman, witnessing all aspects of the production process. Then join our expert drammolier™ to learn the art of blending including the creation of your very own blend to take home.
